HDPE rubber graphite paper making sealing strips
With the increase of paper machine speed, graphite sealing strip is introduced.
This material consists of rubber and graphite. Under the correct operation rules, the service time can reach two years without leaving machine, which solves the big problem of frequent shutdown and maintenance of the paper mill and improves the startup rate.
Working Principle
The purpose of sealing strips is to reduce the effect of the bundle bypass stream that flows around the outside of the tube bundle. They are placed in pairs on opposite sides of the baffles running lengthwise along the bundle.
Sealing strips are mainly used in floating-head exchangers, where the clearance between the shell and tube bundle is relatively large. Typically, one pair is used for every four to ten rows of tubes between the baffle tips.
Increasing the number of sealing strips tends to increase the shell-side heat-transfer coefficient at the expense of a somewhat larger pressure drop. In the Simplified Delaware method, the number of sealing strips is set at one pair per ten tube rows.

Installation notice
Great care should be taken to avoid deviations arising from the installation.
1. Tightening the gland should be carried out after the coupling is corrected, the bolts should be evenly supported to prevent the gland end from being skewed, check each point with a stopper, the error is less than a millimeter.
2. Spring compression should be in accordance with the provisions of the required error millimetres. too large compression will increase the face pressure, small compression will influence result of sealing.
3. The ring should be able to move flexibly on the shaft after installation and should spring back automatically when pressed against it.
