Paper Making Press Felt

The Press felt is an important role in removing the water from the paper web after the forming section, at the same time imparting smoothness and conveying it to the dryer section. For this reason, The press felt needs to provide the following functions: water removal, smoothness and runability. In recent years, larger and faster paper machines require press felts of even higher consistency and quality.
Paper making felt refers to the fabric felt used for paper forming and conveying in the paper making industry. According to the position on the paper machine, it can be divided into wet felt, upper felt and dry felt.

Function

1.Water filtration
As a dewatering medium, when the paper web is dehydrated in the vacuum box and the press area, the paper making blanket absorbs and filters out the water from the paper sheet.
2.Leveling effect
In the process of web transfer and dehydration, it plays a role in leveling and modifying the paper surface.
3.Function of conveyor belt
The paper sheet is transferred from the net part to the drying cadre through the pressing part, and the driven roller and cylinder mould are driven to operate.

Tips

Problem:
The mesh edge is worn too fast.
Solutions: 
1. Try to increase the staggered width of vacuum box openings in turn. 
2. Add normal pressure lubricating water to the edge of the vacuum box. 
3. Apply stiffeners at appropriate positions. 
4. Check whether the edge wiper plate and vacuum box have edges or gaps. In particular, the joint of the ceramic panel is a weak link. 
5. Check whether the edge of each roll is seriously worn (the diameter becomes thinner after wear, so that the tension of the mesh is smaller than that of the normal mesh surface, further accelerating the wear)
