Headbox Lips

The lip plate of the headbox is the core component of the headbox in a paper machine. Its main function is to control the spray direction, speed, and uniformity of the pulp, ensuring the quality of paper forming. Its types and characteristics vary depending on its structure.

Main Features of Headbox Lips

1. Vertical Tyep Headbox Lip
Structure: Composed of a long strip thin plate that can move up and down and a lower lip plate.
Characteristics: High resistance to pulp, requiring high spraying pressure; It can spray striped pulp flow and disperse fibers effectively, but. Easy to hang or splash, adjust mainly as a whole.
2. Spray Type (Duckbill/Inclined) Headbox Lip
Structure: The upper and lower lip plates are hinged and inclined below the front wall panel.
Features: Low resistance, low spraying pressure; The spray nozzle is easy to adjust and the slurry flow stability is good, but it is prone to flocculation and needs to be mixed evenly use of pulp rollers.  
3. Combined Headbox Lip
Structure: Add a vertical weir plate (5-7mm) at the end of the inclined upper lip plate.
Features: It combines the advantages of vertical and inclined, with strong shrinkage before the slurry is sprayed, excellent fiber dispersion effect, and flexible adjustment.
