Dandy roll has great effect for paper quality.The surface of the network is usually a flat network, requires a good permeability, the network wire than the line wire to be appropriate some finer.
According to the production of paper, the speed of the paper machine, forming network width and mesh size to choose the appropriate diameter, width and mesh size.

Application

Dandy roll(Finishing roll ,watermark roll)is a light-duty copper -coated hollow roll,it is installed on forming mesh after the first two or three vacuum suction box.
Dandy rolls are used for improving formation, closing up the sheet, smoothing the top side surface, improving felt side quality and print ability, and improving drying.

Dandy roll systems are efficient formers to improve the paper quality and are used on Fourdrinier machines to improve sheet formation. In modern paper machines, these systems are nowadays an integral part particularly in the production of decor papers and cigarette papers. The dandy roll diameter is determined according to the production speed.

Principle

The dandy roll works by being immersed into the free suspension and lightly wrapped by the wire. By unwinding the dandy roll wire on the top side of the web, the latter is smoothed. The intake pressure causes the stock water to penetrate the dandy roll fabric into the interior of the dandy roll. The flow is thus oriented in such a way that freely floating fibers in the suspension reach the fabric and are deflocculated there. The combined steam-water spray tube, the simple adjusting unit, quick retraction and heated chamfers are some of the other tried and tested features of the well-engineered dandy roll device.
