The rubber air tube is mainly used on vacuum suction roll to increase pressure to achieve a good sealing effect. The air tube is usually used in conjunction with sealing strips.

Postion of air tube in the suction roll

Almost every paper machine has at least one suction roll, and some have as many as five, plus spares. They are a critical path element in the operation of the machine, and improper operation can significantly impact power consumption, and decrease the operating interval between changes.

A typical seal assembly is shown in left picture. In most modern designs, the side and siencer seals rest upon air tubes that lie under the seals in a U-shaped holder. The end deckles can be either fixedor resting on springs. The exact configuration depends on the manufacturer of the suction roll and the position.

Importance for sealing strip

The pressure of the sealing strip is determined by the supply pressure of the pneumatic tube set in the sealing groove. The normal operation of the equipment depends on the integrity of the vacuum roller sealing air tube.

We stock tubing in all common metric and U.S. diameters, and can provide fully assembled tube sets or bulk spools for customer assembly. Fittings, plugs, ferrules, and stems from all major machine builders are in stock and also available in bulk. We also stock spaghetti tubes, closed cell foam side seals and protective rubber cushions for the bottom of the seal holder.
Crimpers, dies, and components for assembling customers' own tubes are also available.

Sealing Strips & End Deckle

The rubber air tube and selaing strips are composed the seals for suction roll. Roll seals are traditionally replaced every time a suction roll is serviced.   SUN HONG Seal Strips save energy and provide more stable wear resistance under demanding operating conditions than any other seal strip material in the market.
